Accessibility Statement

Commitment
ZonePlant is built to be usable by as many people as possible, including visitors who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnification, voice control, or who have low-bandwidth or older browsers. Accessibility is a launch requirement on this site, not an afterthought.
Conformance
ZonePlant targets WCAG 2.1 Level AA. This includes:
- Color contrast of at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text and UI components
- All interactive elements reachable and operable by keyboard, with visible focus indicators
- Semantic HTML structure with proper heading hierarchy and landmark regions
- Descriptive alternative text on all meaningful images; empty alt on decorative images
- Form inputs associated with labels and error messages announced to assistive technology
- The interactive planting calendar implements the ARIA grid pattern with arrow-key navigation, Enter to expand, and live-region announcements
- Respect for the
prefers-reduced-motionsystem setting - Text scalable to 200 percent without loss of content or functionality
- Skip-to-main-content link as the first focusable element on every page
Known limitations
No site is perfectly accessible. We work to identify and fix barriers as we find them. Current known gaps:
- Some third-party advertising content (when enabled) may not meet the same standards as our own content
- Image hero placeholders do not yet include descriptive captions; this is a Phase 2 item
Reporting barriers
If you encounter a barrier on ZonePlant, please tell us. Email [email protected] with the page URL, the specific issue you experienced, and the assistive technology and browser you were using if applicable. We aim to acknowledge reports within three business days.
Compatibility
ZonePlant is tested with current versions of:
- Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge on desktop
- Safari on iOS and Chrome on Android
- NVDA on Windows and VoiceOver on macOS and iOS
